“My camera and photos have helped me remember those places and people I no longer have”.

Laura Martinez Da Silva is a Venezuelan Portrait Photographer based in London. She holds a Master’s Degree in Photography, completed in 2016 at the School of Contemporary Photography, EFTI, Madrid.

Her work is based on the family archive, migration and the female body. She uses the photography technique as a therapeutic tool to communicate our feelings and thoughts, creating self-awareness and self-knowledge of our inner self.

Her last work focused on a series of workshops called “Build Your Family Album”, which aimed to create awareness around the topic of migration, new home and resilience through photography.
